In preparation for my drawing a month for a year project, I’ve been working on two drawings today as a warm up getting practice in again. Today I have been drawing from secondary photos of cities I have visited many times and chosen iconic images/locations from the best composed photos I could find on the internet – Wolverhampton Art Gallery and a section of the canal in Birmingham City Centre alongside The Handmade Burger Co.
I have used fine liner pen to create simple linear drawings in the style I intend to complete my project. I hope to then develop the drawings into finished pieces either as mounted up drawings/illustrations, mono or screen prints, glass pieces or free machine embroidery onto textiles surfaces. Depending to the complexity of the drawings, I hope to achieve a diverse range of work as a result of the project. I intend to continue doing practice drawings from secondary sources or previous photos I have taken of different towns or cities to build on my portfolio.
