Following my entry into the British Arts Medal Society (BAMS) Competition in early February, I was informed over the weekend that although I didn’t win the Student Medal Competition, they liked my work so much they wanted to exhibit my glass piece alongside other entries and the winners. My piece is entitled “Recycled Branding” although the photo shows otherwise.
The opening was this evening and I managed to attend with two of my lecturers from university as well as my friend who was in the first year with me, now in his 3rd year (Matt) and two Polish exchange students here this semester in my year studying hot glass. Although the label next to my work had the old title which was incorrect (and I told the curator so she could change it tomorrow for the rest of the exhibition), the event was positive and I managed to do some networking with other exhibitors and the organisers and sponsors of the event.
